Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@–LEE-n@/GOH-mez on July 22, 1992) was an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 when she appeared on the television show for children Barney & Friends. She gained fame for her role as Alex Russo, a teenage star on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). In addition to her TV career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019), and voiced Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She is also a part of the Hulu comedy series, a mystery that airs on Hulu called Only Murders in the Building (21-21-222). The latter earned Gomez critical praise, and nominations for a Golden Globe Award, and as a producer, an Primetime Emmy Award . Gomez released three albums in her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene, all of which reached the top ten on the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun is Down (2011). Stars Dance, her debut solo album, was a massive hit in the U.S. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album"Stars Dance" (2013). The album's lead single, "Come & Get It" reached the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second album of Gomez, Revival (2015) was released at the top spot in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and spawned three top-ten tracks in the US: "Good for You""Same old Love" and "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) which was her third studio album was her third consecutive album to be a top-ten hit in the US. The album's first single, "Lose You To Love Me" was her first number one song in both the US and Canada. In 2021, she dropped the EP in Spanish Revelacion, for which she received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been awarded numerous awards and was named Billboard's Female of the Year in 2017, and she also broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2020. She is a renowned social media influencer and is the most followed actress and musician on Instagram.
