Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has worked as a TV host, journalist writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for over ten years. She also is the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Born in Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England together with her family around the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. Her success as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she graduated. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice portal that offered critical opinions on the state of the nation's politics. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to run for a non-partisan position in the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most Popular Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining 12th position on that list. The same year, the Guardian listed her among the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. Although she had a close relationship with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the rest of her life. Even during her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. At the age of 16 her family moved in her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, and eventually was its first foreign female president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter was born after graduation. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
